April Train Station Card Kit

Happy Saturday everyone!

I’ve already shared 2 cards using the April Train Station card kit from Paper Bakery but I still have 3 more that I would like to show you.

The cool wood veneer came in the kit but I just coloured in the letters with a black marker to make them stand out. I also used a bitty bag that I received at some point from Paper Bakery and the Kraft card base is from the March card kit.

For this card I tried another fun technique using the gelato and an embossing folder. The “happy” and the hearts are from the exclusive cut file for April and the sequins you can find in the store right here

On my last card I added in some patterned paper from the January card kit. I made one of the tickets from the ticket roll the focal point and I just love the sentiment!

Don’t forget that you can find the April card kit right here.

Have a fabulous weekend!!

Fun with gelato!

No I am not talking about Italian ice cream….lol!!

In the April Train Station Card Kit  for Paper Bakery you receive an aqua gelato by Faber-Castell. I haven’t really played with gelatos so I did some research……on Pinterest of course….and was inspired by a video made by Darlene DeVries.

Here is my card inspired by the video.
April-gelato-stencil-card-k
Let me take you through the steps to recreate it.

Aprilstep1
Spread gesso onto a piece of white cardstock.

Aprilstep2
Rub your gelato all over. I added a bit of gold gelato too. Then just blend it all in with your finger.

Aprilstep3
Place one of your favourite Paper Bakery stencils over top and rub off some of the gelato with a baby wipe. You can find all of the exclusive stencils right here.

Aprilstep4
I also flicked a bit of water onto the piece to add some extra white spots.

I finished up my card by adding some of the gold glitter stars and the thank you wood veneer that I embossed black.

I hope you have as much fun playing with the Gelato in the kit as I did!

Chicken Love

One of my most favourite things to do is spend time with my great friends at Memories Manor which is an awesome scrap retreat or what we like to call "home away from home."

On one of these weekends I had purchased a chicken toy for my daughter's puppy and as a little joke I had put it into Mat's bed but she found it before she climbed under the sheets. Darn!!  Lol!!

This layout was made using the March Daylight Savings kit from Paper Bakery. Unfortunately it is sold out so I hope you got it before they were gone.
Other products used: A.C. cardstock
                                   Wink of Stella
                                   EK Success
I also used from the Paper Bakery store these sequins and this stamp set.

I also used the latest sketch at My Creative Sketches. It was such a great sketch that I just had to play along!

Edited Aug.3/14 to link to the challenge at Paper Issues.

News Flash!

I'm not done sharing my cards from the Paper Bakery March Daylight Savings Card Kit yet...lol!

The adorable camera paper in the 6x6 paper pad that comes in the kit was perfect to use with an exclusive stamp that came in this scrapbook kit. The kit is still available I see so I would suggest a little retail therapy. :)

That adorable "smile" flair is from Paper Bakery too.

Everything is from the card kit other than:
Cardstock: SU, A.C.
Versamark, Embossing powder

Edited Aug.3/14 to link up to the challenge at Paper Issues.

Speech Bubbles?

One of the papers from the March Card Kit from Paper Bakery called Daylight Savings had all these speech bubbles and it reminded me of texting on a cell phone so this is the card I created.

Everything is from the kit other than the cardstock form A.C. and SU
Stickers from kit: Teresa Collins "Daily Stories"
PP from kit: MME "Just Splendid"

The wood veneer speech bubbles co-ordinated with the paper soooooo perfectly!

I cut the cell phone out using my Cameo.

Walk A Mile

I almost forgot to put this up on my blog....YIKES!!! While I was away on my scrap weekend I played along with the February sketch at My Creative Sketches.

If you go check the sketch out you will see that I turned it 90 degrees to accommodate my photo and I also added a second photo.

My oldest son Jonathan is always getting involved with charity events which is so wonderful. With his friend Mike they participated in the Walk A Mile in Her Shoes but not only did they put on high heel shoes they totally dressed the part with women's clothes too! Jonathan is the one in the "little black" dress.
