Debate Team Card Kit

Happy Friday everyone! I would like to share some more cards that I created with the May Debate Team Card kit.

I die cut out the word “happy” and a flourish element from black cardstock and then used the negative piece as my focal point for my card. Behind it I placed the dictionary type paper that is in the kit so it peeks out from the die cuts. I embellished with a few sequins from the store and my card was done.

My next card was all about the patterned paper in the kit that looks like cork. I first made a background layer using the brown cardstock and a muted piece of paper from the kit and stitched around it with my sewing machine WITHOUT using any thread just to poke holes all around the edge. Next I took a butterfly punch and made 9 butterflies out of that fabulous “cork” paper and placed them in 3 rows on the card and put a pearl in the center of each.

My “Hello” sentiment is made using the Jillibean alphas in the kit.

In the kit is this map type paper and I matted it with the striped paper which made me think of air mail envelopes. Do they even still exist? Maybe I am dating myself….lol!

I used the following items from the store to embellish  my card. Blue sequins, Flair.

I hope you will pop over to the Paper Bakery store and pick up a card kit for yourself!

April Train Station Card Kit

Happy Saturday everyone!

I’ve already shared 2 cards using the April Train Station card kit from Paper Bakery but I still have 3 more that I would like to show you.

The cool wood veneer came in the kit but I just coloured in the letters with a black marker to make them stand out. I also used a bitty bag that I received at some point from Paper Bakery and the Kraft card base is from the March card kit.

For this card I tried another fun technique using the gelato and an embossing folder. The “happy” and the hearts are from the exclusive cut file for April and the sequins you can find in the store right here

On my last card I added in some patterned paper from the January card kit. I made one of the tickets from the ticket roll the focal point and I just love the sentiment!

Don’t forget that you can find the April card kit right here.

Have a fabulous weekend!!

Card set

I really enjoyed making this simple card set so I thought I would play around and make some more and here is what I came up with.

I used Kraft cardstock as my base for each card but used different embossing folders for a bit of variety. I added a strip of coloured cardstock across the middle of the card. The strips were all stamped with the same butterfly from the Colorful Companions set and with different sentiments.

Here are some closeups of the individual cards. Actually this first photo is the whole set tied together with a matching ribbon.

On the inside of each card I stamped the butterfly with Versamark just to give a tone on tone effect.

Cardstock: SU & A.C.
PP: A.C.
Stamps: myStampBOX (Colorful Companions, Mention it, Straightforward)
Ink: Versafine, Versamark

Misc: ribbon, embossing folders

A Great Partnership!

For the next few days myStampBOX and Clearsnap are joining forces and creating with each others products. How fun!!!

I actually made 2 cards because I wanted to be able to play with more of the Clearsnap goodies. :)

On my first card I used the emboss resist technique using the Smooch Spritz.

Stamps: Abundant Blossoms, Mention it, Backgrounds
Clearsnap: Colorbox chalk and dye ink, Smooch Spritz
PP: MME
Cardstock: SU
Misc: button, Jillibean twine, Versamark, embossing powder

Here is a closeup. Love that glimmer!

On my second card I did a lot of sponging on the background with Chalk Inks and watercoloured my stamped leaves with the SMOOCH. Love the shine it gave them!

Stamps: Floating Leaves
Clearsnap: Smooch, Chalk Ink
Cardstock: SU & watercolour paper
Misc: unk ribbon, Memento ink

Here is a closeup.

Thanks Clearsnap I had lots of fun!

Happy Anniversary

8 years ago today my sweet daughter Amy married Mario and we couldn't have picked a better son-in-law ourselves.

It so hard to believe that 8 years have already passed by.

Here is the card that I made for the 2 of them.

From the LYB "Swoon" collection I used:
6x6 paper pack
Stick Pins
Paper flower kit
Clear Cuts
Chipboard shapes
Stamp: myStampBOX (Mention It)
Embossing powder:Recollections
Punch: EK, Recollections
Pearls: Recollections

Here is a peak at the inside.

Isn't that little musical note punch adorable? I found it in the $1.50 bin at Michaels.

All the Little Yellow Bicycle product comes from Cord Scrapbook Studio and the stamp sentiment is from myStampBOX.

I also used the Mojo Monday sketch #240 as my inspiration.

Happy Anniversary Amy and Mario! Love you both so much. :)

Thinking of You

I have some more projects using the Country Garden Collection from Bo Bunny that I received from Cord Scrapbook Studio.

I was able to make a couple of cards very quickly using the die cuts and stickers.

Cardstock: SU, Prism
PP: Bo Bunny
Diecut: Bo Bunny
Button: Bo Bunny
Twine: Jillibean
Stamp: MyStampBOX (straightforward)
Ink: Tim Holtz
Pearls: BG
Misc: Versamark, Cuttlebug, Embossing Powder

I used a myStampBOX  stamp to create my sentiment right on top of a diecut.

I did a little handstitching on the diecut that I used as the focal point of the next card. I think it turned out so soft and pretty. Those little Jillibean alpha stickers are perfect for card makers!!

Cardstock: SU
PP: Bo Bunny
Button: Bo Bunny
Die Cut: Bo Bunny
Stickers: Jillibean
Misc: Seam binding, DMC floss, Gelly roll pen, pop dots

Here is a close up of my handstitching and the shimmer that I added to the butterfly with the gelly roll pen.

Earth Day at myStampBOX

Today the design team over at myStampBOX are celebrating Earth Day!

I made a card using one of my new favourite stamp sets called Warm Tweets. I love those little birds. I wanted to make sure that I used something from Nature for an Earth Day inspired project.

I made those swirls on the background of my card by using the butterfly flight path "tails" from the Funky Flowers stamp set. I stamped and embossed them and then coloured over them with distress inks.

To also include a bit of recycling for Earth Day I used some corrugated cardboard as my card base. I actually used some of the box that my new myStampBOX stamps came in! Heehee!

Stamps: myStampBOX (Warm Tweets, Funky Flowers)
Cardstock: SU, Neenah
Ink: Tim Holtz, Memento
Pearls: Recollections
Enamel accents: Ranger
Misc: Versamark, Copics, embossing powder, Nestabilities, cardboard box

Here is a bit of a closeup. This is the first time that I used Enamel accents for the eyes and I really like the effect.

Make sure that you pop over to the myStampBOX blog to see all the other wonderful Earth Day creations from the rest of the design team.
