Dynamic Duos #76 and a Sad Farewell

Well friends this will be my last post for Dynamic Duos as part of their DT. Boo hoo. :( It's been such a pleasure meeting and creating with Lesley and Anne Marie and all of the DT but our term has come to an end.
I know that the new DT will be fabulous and will surely inspire us all.

The Duo this week is Wisteria Wonder and Perfect Plum. I figured that these colours would allow me to sneak in another Halloween card before the 31st.

Dynamic Duos #75

Hi there! Right now I am away for a scrap weekend but wanted to check in and let you know that it's time for the next challenge at Dynamic Duos.

 

I thought these colours would be perfect for a Halloween Card which...guess what.....is the Dessert option!! Yay!!

 

I had so much fun using the chalkboard technique the other week so I gave it another go and really like how it turned out.

We have some soft and subtle colours for you today at Dynamic Duos and they are.....So Saffron and Calypso Coral. Pretty...right?

Dynamic Duos #73

This week our colour duo is Cajun Craze and Island Indigo. Both of these colours are from the SU Regal Collection.

 

When I saw these colours it made me think of Fall which has definitely arrived here in the Niagara region of Ontario.

 

To bring more of that Fall feel to my card I used a fabulous stamp collection from Wplus9, a woodgrain embossing folder and some wood veneer maple leaves which I coloured with my Copics.

The journal card that I stamped my sentiment on was from a big box of assorted Project Life cards by Becky Fleck that I got for an awesome price at Michaels and even though I'm not doing Project Life these cards will come in so handy for many cards and layouts.

 

 

Dynamic Duos #71

This week at Dynamic Duos we have Basic Black paired with Crumb Cake. We also have a dessert option....and who doesn't love dessert....of adding wet embossing to your project!

I have really wanted to try out the trendy Chalkboard technique since this seems to be so hot right now and when I saw that part of the Duo was black.....well....this was the perfect opportunity to give it a go.

This also allowed me to use the dessert option. I love dessert...lol!

I took a piece of chalk and rubbed it over the black cardstock and wiped the excess off with a paper towel.

I stamped my images with Versamark and embossed with white powder.....there's my dessert!

Then I re-stamped with white ink just off setting the image.

With my Uniball signo pen I drew a border around the edges.

Voila!!! There is my chalkboard technique!

I also have a Christmas card done too. Woot woot!!

Dynamic Duos #70

Oh My Goodness!!!! Just realized my post didn't go live on Saturday. Didn't take me too long to notice now did it...oh boy. Anyway here it is now.

The latest duo at Dynamic Duos is a yellow and soft green.

I think we all could use a few "Thinking of You" cards in our stash so that's what I decided to create with this soft and subtle duo this week.

I die cut the middle of my card out and then embossed the front. I stamped my flowers with Versamark and then clear embossed them.

The sentiment was stamped on the inside of the card so that it should through the die cut.

Here is a close-up. Love how the embossing adds shimmer to the flowers!

 

 

 

 

Dynamic Duos #68

This week at Dynamic Duos the colour combo is........wait for it.......Perfect Plum and any other colour of your choice.

I chose to go with a subtle colour that is similar to Wisteria Wonder. You find it in the patterned paper that I used.

To create my card I also used the sketch at Seize the Sketch.

Dynamic Duos #66

Dessert anyone? That's right.....this week there is a dessert option to go along with our duo!

Pool Party and Basic Black are the fabulous colours and if you wish to add the dessert option it is.......EMBOSSING!

I added 2 types of embossing. I embossed my background with an embossing folder and I also heat embossed my sentiment with white embossing powder.

I made my card using the fabulous sketch at Paper Secrets. I am also entering it in challenge #25 at Crazy for CAS

Happy Saturday on what here in Canada is a long weekend! Yay!!

It's Bold and Sassy week at Dynamic Duos and the two colours we have for you are Strawberry Slush and Daffodil Delight. Even the names are pretty!!

I downloaded these adorable cupcake files from Miss Kate Cuttables when they were the freebie of the day and cut them out using my Cameo. Aren't they adorable?

Add some bling and enamel dots and a sentiment and I had myself a card.

Hope you are all having a fabulous Saturday.

It's Monochromatic week at Dynamic Duos and we have 2 shades of green for you. They are "Garden Green" and "Pear Pizzazz".

 

I inked my image with the lighter shade and then dabbed on the darker green before stamping. I just had to add a couple of sequins too. :(

If any of you that are reading my blog are from Alberta my thoughts and prayers are with you. My oldest son is living in Canmore and I am relieved to know that he is okay and his home is safe.

This week the colours for the Dynamic Duos challenge are Tangerine Tango and Cajun Craze. Nice right?

 

My parents are celebrating their 64th wedding anniversary this week and my card is for them. 64 years.....wow...they are truly blessed!!

I used an older SU stamp for my focal point which has......plants on it....of course...hee hee! The gorgeous sentiment stamp is from Wplus9 and it is stamped on vellum for a softer look.

I found that cute little flower stamp in my stash but I didn't have the ink colour that I wanted so I tried something I've never done before. I pulled out my copics and found a matching colour and inked my stamp up with the marker.

I like the sort of water colour effect it gave.

Where did this past week go? It's already time for the next challenge at Dynamic Duos!

Feathers are definitely a trend out in the crafty world right now so I thought I would give it a go. I put my trusty Cameo to work for me and this is what I came up with. I added some twine and some bling and my card was together in no time.
