The Cut Shoppe

I am so excited to be a Guest Designer for Ashley today on  The Cut Shoppe blog!!!

There are so many fabulous cut files in the store that it was extremely difficult to decide which ones to use on my layout. In the end I chose the chevron tree in this cut file

and the word family from this cut file.

I enlarged the chevron tree and cut it out on the left side of my layout. I then backed each cut out row on the tree with patterned paper. I then added a variety of sequins, rhinestones, glittery enamel dots to decorate my tree. Fun...right?

The word family from Thankful Tidings was perfect to use in my title. It's all about getting together with family at Christmas.

Cardstock: AC
PP: The Paper Studio, Jillibean Soup
Stickers: Jillibean Soup, Bella Blvd, Heidi Swapp
Bling: Prima, MME, Recollections, Paper Studio
Cutfile: The Cut Shoppe
Other: wood veneer, machine stitiching

Here are a couple more close-ups.

Thank you Ashley for this opportunity and for your amazing cut-files!
Please go check out The Cut Shoppe everyone.

November Clique Kits Pep Rally

Hi there and welcome!  I am joining some of the DT and members of Clique Kits to share some projects that we have created using the November kit Tapestry.
There is a challenge every month and for November it is: Anything Goes. Yay!!

I really, really love this collection by We R Memory Keepers. The colours are so rich and gorgeous!

This layout will go into the calendar that I give my Mom for Christmas so it can't be too dimensional but all I needed to add for extra texture was some of the beautiful ephemera and one of the free cut files that you receive when you are a Clique kit subscriber.

Here is the lineup for the hop. I hope you are inspired and please comment for a chance to win one of these gorgeous kits!

A Whirlwhind!!

The last few months have been a whirlwind for sure and that's why I have been ignoring my blog.

It started with my Father's passing at the end of May. My heart was broken...we were so very close.

He was my Mother's main caregiver since her strokes so now there was no way she could live by herself. She has since moved in with my sister and I think has adjusted very well.
The month of June was spent cleaning out their retirement home. So hard to get rid of many of their belongings and yet again my Mother handled it like a champ!

A couple weeks later I broke my arm and was in a long arm cast for 4 weeks and then a cast to my elbow for 3 weeks. UGH!!! What a way to ruin a summer!!!

And then finally some good news...great news....a MIRACLE!!

My daughter and son-in-law have endured many years of heartache and have spent boat loads of money trying to have a baby and on August 14th they received the wonderful news that they were able to adopt a beautiful healthy 4 week old baby boy!!  We are all so very blessed!!!

So of course quickly preparations had to be made for him to come home and I just had to throw together a fabulous baby shower for them.

Please meet my sweet little Grandson Luca!!

Guess who has lots of photos to scrap now!!!

Clique Kits - October Pep Rally

Well it is time for another Pep Rally at Clique Kits. Good morning everyone! Yes I know that I have been MIA for awhile. These last few months have been a whirlwind but I will get into that in a different blog post.

I just had to join in with the Pep Rally this month now that I am able and had the time. They are so much fun and it's inspiring to see what everyone else has created with their kits!
You should have arrived here from Evi's fabulous blog.

October's kit was called "Funfetti" and yes it is totally fun!

Here is my layout using an adorable PinkFresh Studio paper as my base. It made it so quick and easy to create a layout.

I made feathers from the gorgeous Crate Paper Vellum and embellished with the wood veneer and some flair from my stash.

Isn't this alpha from PinkFresh amazing??

The gold confetti sequins are so perfect. Love them! I added some Pebbles felt clouds from my stash too.

Here is the whole line up for the hop. I know you will enjoy all the fabulous inspiration!

Something broken here!

Yes and that something would be me!! Unfortunately I had a fall golfing in the pouring rain. Who knew that golf is a dangerous sport!!

I will keep this short because it's tedious typing with my left hand but I wanted to let you all know why my blog has been quiet......no crafting for this girl til the end of the month I think.

I picked a pretty colour for my cast though don't you agree?

Take care and I'll be back soon!!

Emotional Day

I haven't posted on my blog in quite awhile and that's because 3 weeks ago my Dad passed away.

I miss him so very much and of course especially today on Father's Day. We were so very close. I spoke to him and my Mom everyday and saw him almost every other day.

I couldn't have asked for a better Dad. So kind, fair, generous and loving! He was called home to be with his Lord and Saviour on May 30th.

Not only have I and my brother and sister been busy with the funeral and all that comes with the passing of a parent but because my Mother can not be by herself due to 3 strokes we have had to clean out their retirement apartment. So MUCH work but by the end of the month it will be done.

So today is rough one but life goes on and we celebrate Dad's life!

What a blessing my hobby of scrapbooking has been in documenting so many happy family times together. My scrapbooks were displayed at the funeral home and I could tell that family and friends alike enjoyed paging through them and seeing Dad in many of my layouts!

To my Dad....I love you and miss you every day!!

Palm Love

This past week I pulled out my May kit from Clique Kits and made another layout using the kit and also the sketch from Boys Rule.

The die cut that came with the kit was so fabulous so I definitely had to use it! I backed all of the spoked circles with patterned paper from the kit which is from Amy Tan's "Rise and Shine" collection.

I really love Palm trees and this variety I just found so cool!!

Other than the thickers and the enamel dots everything was from my Clique kit.
